RFS Projects Pty Ltd is seeking a talented Draftsperson/Building Designer to join our team in Devonport, Tasmania. This is a full‑time position that will play a crucial role in the design and documentation of a range of residential projects. As a key member of our team, you will use your expertise in building design/drafting to turn concepts into detailed plans that meet our clients' needs and comply with all relevant building codes and regulations. What you’ll be doing Preparing detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for building projects Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements Assisting with the preparation of planning and building permit applications Providing support and advice to our team throughout the design and documentation stages Staying up to date with changes in building regulations and industry best practices What we’re looking for Diploma in Drafting, Design, or a related field, with registration strongly preferred. 2–3 years’ experience in drafting within a volume home building environment. Proficiency in CAD software is essential. Strong knowledge of NCC, Building Regulations, and relevant Australian Standards. Customer‑focused with a broad understanding of construction terminology and documentation. Knowledge of the building approval process for submission. Strong communication and customer service skills.
