About the Venue Located in South Melbourne , Cheri is a bright and playful café serving specialty coffee, house‑made gelato, and fresh bakery treats. With its unique mix of café service and takeaway trade, Cheri is a fast‑paced venue that thrives on great coffee, efficiency, and a fun, energetic team. About the Role We’re looking for a Barista Supervisor (2IC) to step into a full‑time role at Cheri. Working closely with the Head Barista and Venue Manager , you’ll help manage the barista team, oversee coffee operations, and ensure consistency and quality across service. This role will include assisting with ordering , managing the day‑to‑day workflow, and running shifts when the Head Barista is off‑site . It’s a hands‑on leadership role that requires confidence on the machine, strong organisation, and the ability to guide and support junior baristas. Key Responsibilities Support the Head Barista and Venue Manager in leading the barista team Run shifts confidently, maintaining pace and quality in a busy service Manage dial‑ins, calibration, and daily equipment care Assist with stock management and ordering Train and mentor junior baristas, building consistency and confidence Step into the Head Barista role when required What We’re Looking For Proven barista experience in a specialty coffee environment Strong technical knowledge of espresso preparation, grinders, and equipment Leadership experience and confidence mentoring staff Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced café with a diverse offering (coffee, gelato, bakery) Organised, reliable, and proactive in managing service flow Availability to work full‑time, including weekends What We Offer A leadership role in a vibrant, high‑energy café environment Opportunities for career development within The Darling Group Supportive leadership and a collaborative team culture Competitive pay and staff perks across all venues Location Cheri – South Melbourne #J-18808-Ljbffr
