Base pay range A$100,000.00/yr - A$120,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Downer Professional Services Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security. We currently have an opportunity for a Project Support Officer in Adelaide to work on Defence Naval Sustainment project. What You’ll Do This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and work breakdown structures to support delivery milestones. Coordinate workforce planning and task tracking, resolving delivery blockers to keep projects on track. Support governance reporting through weekly status updates, financial tracking, and milestone progress. Maintain and monitor project registers (risks, issues, actions), contributing to risk mitigation planning and resolution. Facilitate cross-functional coordination and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective communication and alignment. What You’ll Bring Proven ability to manage detailed project schedules, resource plans, and reporting tools to support milestone delivery. Strong coordination skills across workforce planning, task tracking, and issue resolution in dynamic environments. Experience maintaining project registers and supporting risk mitigation strategies to ensure delivery continuity. Effective stakeholder engagement and communication across internal teams and external partners. Familiarity with Defence or infrastructure programs, with proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and governance reporting. Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
