About The Role The Liaison Officer (LO) provides culturally responsive, client-centred case management and support to Tuvaluan visa holders under the Falepili Mobility Pathway. The position delivers holistic settlement services, from pre‑arrival through to program exit, across housing, health, education, employment, and community participation. As the primary contact for participants, the LO ensures service coordination, orientation delivery, and achievement of settlement outcomes in alignment with the Falepili framework and Multicultural Australia’s quality standards. This is a Fixed‑Term, Full‑Time role until 30 March 2026, based in Brisbane and Surroundings, ideal for someone passionate about community engagement and supporting clients from Tuvaluan background. What You’ll Be Doing: Deliver end‑to‑end case management for Tuvaluan participants from pre‑arrival to exit. Complete Pre‑Arrival Assessments and coordinate arrival logistics, including airport pickup and accommodation induction. Facilitate essential registrations (Centrelink, Medicare, banking) and deliver core settlement orientation sessions. Support access to education, language programs, training, and employment readiness activities. Assist participants with job search, referrals, and financial literacy to promote independence. Strengthen community connection through cultural, social, and wellbeing activities. Maintain accurate case notes, reporting, and ensure compliance with contractual and MA policy requirements. Work collaboratively with Cultural Heritage Officers, Liaison Officers, and SSACC teams to deliver integrated participant support. Qualifications and Skills Required: Possession of Certificate III or IV in Community Services, Settlement, or a related field, OR equivalent skills and experience gained through community or support work; AND minimum one (1) years’ experience in community services, settlement support, or working with CALD communities. Right to work in Australia Valid Queensland Driver’s Licence; Possession of, or willingness and eligibility to obtain a Blue Card Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 and the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Regulation 2020, and Possession of, or willingness to obtain Queensland National Police Check. Bicultural background with fluency in Tuvaluan and English; A strong understanding of Australian service systems (housing, health, education, employment); Ability to deliver trauma‑informed, client‑centred support.
