We are actively seeking a Senior Trusts Accounts Officer for a leading national law firm. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing national finance team, overseeing trust operations and providing leadership, guidance, and specialist support across complex trust matters. The role Lead day‑to‑day trust accounting workflow, mentoring and training junior team members Review, approve, and oversee trust receipts, transfers, payments, PEXA settlements, and controlled money transactions in line with LPUL and firm policies Manage multi‑party settlements, cross‑jurisdictional trust requirements, and high‑value client transactions Ensure accurate trust‑to‑office transfers, reconciliations, and statutory record keeping Lead trust account audits, prepare regulatory reports, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions Act as a trusted advisor to partners, practice groups, and corporate services on trust processes Embed best practice across the team through capability building and training initiatives About you Minimum 4 years’ experience in trust accounting, ideally within a law firm or multi‑office environment Strong understanding of Australian trust regulations (LPUL, state law society rules) Proven experience overseeing workflow or supervising a finance/trust team Exceptional attention to detail, analytical and reconciliation skills Experience managing complex trust transactions, PEXA settlements, and controlled money management Exposure to trust audits and multi‑jurisdictional regulatory reporting desirable Proficiency in Aderant, strong Excel skills, and intermediate Microsoft Office skills Highly organised with excellent time management and stakeholder engagement capabilities Why join this firm Flexible working arrangements Clear career progression with 180‑day career forecasting sessions CBD office with modern facilities Supportive, down‑to‑earth, and nationally recognised firm culture Opportunities to work with senior stakeholders and shape national trust operations About HarperLloyd Recruitment We are a specialist legal recruitment firm partnering with private practice firms (boutique to top‑tier/international), government, and in‑house teams.
