About Us Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities. About the Role This role goes beyond compliance, it’s about being visible on-site, supporting crews and helping drive a proactive safety culture where everyone takes ownership. You’ll work closely with the project team to identify risks early, provide practical safety solutions and ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone on-site. We’re looking for someone who wants to make a genuine difference. What You’ll Bring to the Team Proven capability as a Safety Advisor across civil or road infrastructure environments, with a track record of improving safety outcomes through practical leadership and collaboration. A proactive and visible presence on site, someone who leads from the front, engages authentically with crews, and turns conversations into action. The courage to challenge assumptions and the curiosity to test control effectiveness, learn from the red, and celebrate what works. Demonstrated skill in conducting thorough audits, meaningful risk assessments and facilitating toolbox talks that drive understanding and ownership. A strong grasp of WHS legislation, assurance systems and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to translate them into clear, workable practices. Influence and credibility to connect with people at every level, from frontline teams to clients, regulators and project stakeholders. Qualifications: Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum), Diploma preferred. Requirements: Current White Card and valid driver’s licence.
