About The Role We are looking for Key Workers to deliver interventions to NDIS participants (specifically children aged 0-8) and their families that lead to positive, life‑changing outcomes. Availability and commitment to support before/after school appointments is essential, as this is the most highly requested time for Key Workers to provide therapy to their participants. As a Key Worker at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done: Work in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, and community centres. Attend a family’s home to conduct their initial appointment, utilizing your assessment and communication skills to get to know them, their child and goals. Work collaboratively with a teacher at a preschool to support a child to develop their motor skills. Coach parents through finding a school that best suits their young child’s needs. Work collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills. Build meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends). Document and bill for each session through our online participant management system. Provide support for a 5‑year‑old after school so that they can establish consistent routines. Attend the weekly team meeting in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs. Have met with your Team Leader and Therapy Mentor to tap into their clinical knowledge and/or support. Dropped into an online mentoring session to build knowledge of using Assistive Technology with a participant and some tips to introduce some behavioural support strategies. Who We Are Looking For To work as a Key Worker, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and registration. If you are an Occupational Therapist, you will have a degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration. If you are a Physiotherapist, you will have a degree in Physiotherapy and AHPRA registration. If you are a Speech Pathologist, you will have a degree in Speech Pathology and SPA registration. If you are an Educator, you will have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Teaching or Special Education. If you are a Social Worker, you will have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Social Work and eligible for AASW membership. You will also need: Minimum 12 months experience working with children (aged 0-8) and their families. Demonstrated experience working with children with disability. A positive and flexible approach to work. Strong communication skills and be a team player. Commitment to personal and professional growth. A valid Australian driver’s license. NDIS Workers Screening Check. Working with Childrens Check. Availability and commitment to support before/after school appointments.
