Overview Docent (Animal Experience Guide) and Park - All Rounders. Enjoy the outdoors by working with Australias unique wildlife. If you are passionate about animals, nature, and creating unforgettable experiences for visitors, we are offering two exciting and rewarding volunteer roles that allow you to get involved, give back, and be part of something special. Roles : Docent (Visitor Engagement Volunteer) and All-Rounder (Wildlife Support Volunteer). What You’ll Do Visitor Engagement (Customer Service) Bring joy to our guests by: assisting at Meet the Wombat & Friends sessions, chatting with visitors in the kangaroo enclosure, and assisting during Meet the Koalas experiences. Animal Care (Animal Husbandry) Work alongside our experienced keepers with tasks such as preparing food and enrichment activities, cleaning enclosures and caring for both native and farm animals, and keeping our animal kitchen tidy and functional. Park Maintenance (Grounds Keeping) Help us keep the park safe and beautiful by raking paths, weeding gardens, mulching beds, picking up litter, emptying bins, and washing windows. While you will have the opportunity to work closely with some of our amazing ambassador animals, this is not a cuddle-all-day role. The work can be physically demanding, often dirty, and takes place rain or shine. But for those with a positive attitude and a love for wildlife, it’s truly one of the most fulfilling experiences you can have. Category Animal Welfare Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Type Of Work Tour Guides, Information & Heritage, Working with Animals Time Required We are open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Minimum commitment: one half-day shift per week, or one full-day shift every two weeks. Training Easy pre-course material you can complete at home, followed by a one-on-one/small group workshop.
