About the role
As the Assistant Director Procurement, you will primarily be focused on ensuring the procurement operations of DHA are undertaken in a proactive and compliant manner through the leadership of a small team who deliver an advisory service for minor and simple procurements and lead the development and delivery of complex and strategic procurement initiatives in consultation with subject matter experts.
The role is responsible for:
Provisioning of strategic procurement advice, including the formulation of complex and strategic procurement initiatives and associated documentation, including but not limited to, procurement plans, request for tenders, risk assessments, negotiation plans and contract agreements. Supervising and mentoring of a small team of established and emerging procurement professionals. Drafting of key documents such as minutes, board papers, senate estimates briefs and responses to questions on notice. Identifying and driving the achievement of business and process improvement projects, including the development and delivery of associated training where required. Contributing (where required) to ensuring DHA meets its reporting obligations, including the Senate Order 13, Modern Slavery Statement (and associated commitments), Indigenous Procurement Policy, and other reporting as required. Representing DHA at various internal and external forums, including the delivery of presentations where required. Benefits for working at DHA include:
