Overview Practice Leader – Ecology at RPS, A Tetra Tech Company. We are seeking a passionate and experienced ecology professional to lead our NSW ecology team. Preferred locations are Sydney or Newcastle; there is potential for this role to be based in other parts of NSW. The Role As Practice Leader – Ecology, you will lead our ecology team, delivering meaningful environmental outcomes for clients while guiding the team’s strategic and commercial growth. This is a hands-on role focused on leadership, project delivery, and business development. Responsibilities Lead, mentor and inspire a team of ecological professionals Develop and implement business development and growth strategies Drive delivery of significant projects and multidisciplinary programs Provide high-level ecological expertise, reporting, and advisory support Engage with clients, regulators and community stakeholders to communicate science and deliver value Collaborate across RPS teams to capitalise on inter-disciplinary opportunities What You’ll Bring A degree in ecology, environmental science or a related discipline A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in ecological consulting, project delivery and team leadership Proven experience in managing technical projects and professional services teams Strong commercial acumen, with a track record in business development and client engagement Ability to navigate complexity, solve problems and deliver innovative, commercially viable solutions Our Approach Our people live our purpose, deliver our promise, and demonstrate our behaviours every day.
