About The Role The main focus of the Service Manager is to plan, organise, lead and control the service department, to perform a range of service functions, ensuring the service department is efficient and profitable. The service Manager acts as an ambassador of the dealership and Toyota amongst the wider community. Key job functions & Accountabilities Providing leadership and direction to employees in the service department, aligning activities with the broader business plan. Regular reporting of department's actual sales performance against set targets to the General Manager/Dealer Principal. Monitoring the service department's revenue, margin, and expense performance initiating corrective action where required. Promoting the dealership and the manufacturers it represents. Recruiting, selecting, and training of service department staff. Building collaborative relationships within the dealership, the manufacturer dealer network(s) and the community. Building and maintaining customer loyalty and support through enhanced personnel skills and high standards of quality workmanship. Promoting a safe working environment, ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment. Demonstrating and encouraging behaviours that align with company policies and organisational values. Ensuring compliance of the Service team with dealership processes. Conducting/documenting monthly meetings as well as regular toolbox meetings with the workshop team. Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in an automotive service operations environment in a managerial or supervisory role. Highly developed customer and employee relations skills. Proven ability to lead and develop staff. Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. Desirable Skills / Qualifications / Experience Effective written and verbal communication skills Technical aptitude Experience managing and motivating a service department Behavioural Attributes Continuous improvement, creates and executes business plans to support sustainable growth.
