Join the Queensland Children’s Hospital Emergency Department as a Clinical Nurse to drive financial and clinical excellence. You will be pivotal in optimising Clinical Coding and Activity Based Funding (ABF) within ieMR/FirstNet, leveraging your clinical expertise to ensure accurate funding is received. About The Team The QCH provides the only Level 6 paediatric emergency service in Queensland for children and young people from all over Queensland (as well as northern New South Wales and the Pacific Rim) up to their 16th birthday (and up to the age of 18 years for pre‑existing chronic or congenital conditions, and mental health conditions). The QCH also provides lower-level paediatric emergency service to children from the local catchment area. Emergency operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Emergency Department is committed to the Children’s Health Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Equity Strategy and has a Model of Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who present to the Emergency Department. It provides initial assessment and management of all acute presentations to the QCH Emergency Short Term Treatment Area (STTA) where patients who meet the STTA admission criteria are admitted for between 2 and 24 hours for further observation, treatment, or specialist assessment. About The Role The Clinical Nurse (Data Integrity and Quality) role optimises Emergency Department Clinical Coding and improves data quality for Activity Based Funding (ABF) allocation, clinical analysis, research and technical efficiencies. The role provides advanced clinical, problem‑solving and coordination skills in the non‑clinical management of Emergency Department presentations, ensuring that data quality standards are met. The Clinical Nurse leads professional and clinical practice, education, and research and works with a degree of autonomy within the Emergency team. The Clinical Nurse will identify ABF optimisation opportunities within FirstNet in ieMR and deliver these in line with data quality standards and required timeframes for data extraction and submission, to ensure appropriate funding is received.
