YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE Data Quality & Integrity Officer - HIS 12-months fixed term, full time position 80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADOs Attractive salary packaging options are available About the role Health Information Services is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our patient information team. This is a full time position Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. The job classification and wage rate is Grade 2: HS2, Level 1-5 (dependant on experience) as per the Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) Enterprise Agreement . As a member of the patient information team, you will assist with the maintenance and provision of patient records for patient care, research and education. The position will utilise the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR), iPM (Patient Administration System), and other electronic information systems used to store patient data. About you The successful candidate will have a high attention to detail whilst being a highly organised and methodical worker. Data Quality and Integrity Officer tasks include but are not limited to the following; Management and auditing of data in electronic systems Analysis, correction and updating of data in the Epic EMR and iPM Other data management and quality activities as required Assisting HIS Management in identifying system process improvements Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement Classification or Salary Range HS2 Immunisation Category C Key Relationships Internal Health Information Services staff Administration staff within Peter Mac Clinical staff within Peter Mac Other relevant administration and clinical staff within the Parkville Precinct External Other Hospitals Other external agencies Education Skills Highly organised and methodical worker Experience and interest in data management and analysis Ability to prioritise work Ability to work as a team member Ability to work with minimal supervision Previous hospital administration experience an advantage Previous experience using Epic EMR or other EMR Understanding of Patient Privacy requirements Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Key Accountabilities Key Accountabilities Demonstrated by / Key Performance Indicators Provision of patient information to support patient care, research and education. Release of information provided in line with policies and procedures, Release of information provided to meet required timelines, in particular immediate attention to urgent requests Accept and make appropriate practice changes based on process improvement, software development and Management feedback All Epic EMR deficiency queues pertaining to this role are monitored continuously and actioned within agreed timelines Timely response and action to requests for chart corrections in Epic and iPM Ensuring consent provided for patient and proxy access to health hub Monitoring of interface and error queues Regular monitoring and actioning of other data updates eg deceased notifications, doctor updates and invalid MRNs Auditing of data for coding purposes Key Accountabilities (Contd..) 3. Provision of effective administrative support Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required Undertake all duties in line with policies and procedures within the required timeframe to meet KPIs Perform role in line with confidentiality and privacy requirements Participate in training and development Work cooperatively as part of the Data and Integrity team and assist other HIS staff as required Offer opinions and suggestions to improve work areas Maintain knowledge and skill base required for effective performance and identify learning needs Support and train new employees when required Work cooperatively within multi-disciplinary teams to improve workflow in consultation with management 4.
