Its areas of expertise include roads and bridges, rail, tunnelling, and water & wastewater infrastructure, tackling both urban and regional challenges. We are looking for a Construction Project Engineer V.I.E. F/M who will be excited to work on the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade – Stage 1 (QLD). Seymour Whyte is delivering key components of this major rail upgrade, including new track duplication, road overpasses and station improvements. The project will increase capacity, reliability and safety on one of Queensland’s busiest rail corridors. What can you expect as a Construction Project Engineer @Seymour Whyte? As part of the Seymour Whyte teams, you will play a key role in supervising a specific worksite area while working closely with construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and more. Project Delivery & Site Coordination Track and report daily productivity for assigned tasks. Assist with cost control and estimating as required by the Project Manager. Develop, track, and report on work schedules as needed. Help maintain the project’s drawing register as required. Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Handle all HSEQ duties as outlined in the Project’s Management Plans and related documents. Identify and elevate risks that could affect the safe, timely, and cost‑effective delivery of activities. Manage quality production according to approved method statements and ITPs, monitoring construction progress to ensure acceptable quality. Commercial & Procurement Support Verify subcontractor claims and variations. Manage procurement tasks, ensuring compliance with SWC governance and authority limits. What about you? You’re looking for a role that mixes fieldwork with project coordination, and you’re eager to get hands‑on experience in construction. You hold a master’s degree in civil engineering or construction and have initial experience in roadworks, railway projects, or civil engineering (infrastructure/TP), which aligns closely with the technical requirements of the role. These backgrounds are particularly relevant and will be given priority in our selection process. You make Health & Safety a priority. You follow the rules and actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment for everyone. You’re comfortable using digital tools, especially Excel, and you can support planning tasks such as updating short‑term schedules or reviewing project programs. You bring an analytical, detail‑oriented mindset and feel confident navigating basic contractual procedures and working with different stakeholders. You’re comfortable with the fast pace and direct communication of construction sites, and your can‑do attitude helps you face challenges head‑on. You’ve got strong interpersonal skills and enjoy being part of a team. Your curiosity and openness make it easy for you to adapt and integrate quickly. You speak fluent English and feel confident communicating in any context—on site, in meetings, or day‑to‑day—and you're excited about the opportunity to live and work in Australia, making the most of everything it has to offer. You have your driver’s license, and you’re ready to move between sites if needed.
