Eligibility European citizen aged 18–28 Fluent in English Graduate with no prior VIE or work experience in the host country Project Overview Role: Construction Project Engineer for the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade – Stage 1 (QLD). The project involves new track duplication, road overpasses, and station improvements, aiming to increase capacity, reliability and safety on one of Queensland’s busiest rail corridors. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Site Coordination Track and report daily productivity for assigned tasks. Assist with cost control and estimating as required by the Project Manager. Develop, track, and report on work schedules. Maintain the project’s drawing register. Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Handle all HSEQ duties as outlined in the project’s Management Plans and related documents. Identify and raise risks that could affect safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery. Manage quality production according to approved method statements and ITPs, monitoring construction progress. Commercial & Procurement Support Verify subcontractor claims and variations. Manage procurement tasks, ensuring compliance with SWC governance and authority limits. What about you? Looking for a role that mixes fieldwork with project coordination and eager for hands‑on construction experience. Hold a master’s degree in civil engineering or construction with initial experience in roadworks, railway projects, or civil engineering (infrastructure/TP). Prioritise Health & Safety and actively contribute to a safe work environment. Comfortable using digital tools, especially Excel, and can support planning tasks such as updating short‑term schedules. Analytical, detail‑oriented mindset with confidence navigating basic contractual procedures and stakeholder communication. Adaptable to fast‑paced, direct‑communication construction sites and possesses a can‑do attitude. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit. Fluent in English and excited to live and work in Australia. Has a driver’s licence and ready to move between sites if needed.
