Qualified Chef – The Barun Cafe (Sefton Park) The Barun is looking for a qualified chef to join our team, with up to 38 hours per week on offer. The Role As a key member of our kitchen team, you will: Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch meals to a consistently high standard Maintain food safety and hygiene standards Contribute to seasonal menu development and create enticing specials Manage daily stock ordering, control stock levels, and minimise waste Work collaboratively in a fast‑paced team environment Start as casual employment with full‑time opportunities available for the right candidate Competitive pay based on experience No nights, no public holidays – enjoy a great work‑life balance Staff discounts on coffee and meals Supportive team culture – work in a well‑established café with a great crew About You We’re looking for someone who: Is a qualified chef with 3+ years of experience, ideally in a café or breakfast‑focused kitchen Has strong breakfast cooking skills, with experience handling high volumes Brings creativity to the menu and a passion for high‑quality ingredients Can manage stock ordering and inventory efficiently Works well under pressure and enjoys a team‑focused environment Is available for a flexible roster across weekdays and weekends Experience and knowledge of smoking meats is highly desirable What We’re Looking For We seek a qualified chef with substantial experience in a high‑paced café or breakfast kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a senior kitchen role, with strong knowledge of all kitchen operations. Strong leadership skills, creativity in menu development, and thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene are essential. Experience in training apprentices and a passion for creating engaging specials will be advantageous. Flexibility to work across a 7‑day roster, including weekends, is required, with no late nights or public holidays.
