Head of Compliance / MLRO (Digital Currency Exchange) Location: Remote-first (Sydney Based) | Full-time About Ambit Ambit is a compliance‑first crypto ↔ fiat liquidity and settlement platform, starting with AUD ⇄ USDT OTC and on/off‑ramp in Australia, with plans to expand into other regulated markets. We’re AUSTRAC‑registered and building rails for high‑value clients and institutional‑grade flows. The role You will own Compliance end‑to‑end as our Head of Compliance / MLRO, working closely with the founder and helping Ambit scale in Australia and overseas. What you’ll do Own and maintain Ambit’s AML/CTF Program (Part A & B) and ensure alignment with AUSTRAC rules and guidance. Act as main liaison with AUSTRAC (and ASIC where relevant) and lead all SMR, TTR/IFTR and breach reporting. Oversee KYC/KYB, sanctions/PEP screening and transaction monitoring, including tuning scenarios and thresholds. Run risk assessments (enterprise, ML/TF, product, customer) and report clearly to leadership/Board. Design and deliver internal compliance training & education (onboarding and refreshers) and build a strong compliance culture across the team. Draft and maintain policies and procedures and ensure records and audit trails are in good order. Work with Product/Engineering to build compliance‑by‑design into on/off‑ramp and OTC workflows. Lead strategy and execution for licences/registrations in other key jurisdictions as we expand beyond Australia.
