In this role, the Rope Access Exterior Painter will perform painting and coating tasks on the exterior surfaces of buildings, structures, or other elevated areas using rope access techniques. Benefits Stable, full-time employment with a well-established company Career development opportunities including ongoing training, upskilling, and professional advancement within a growing organization Work on prestigious projects Industry-leading safety culture with all team members holding IRATA qualifications and commitment to continuous safety training Supportive team environment where your skills are valued and your professional growth is encouraged Competitive salary Variety in your work - no two days are the same when you're working on diverse building exteriors across Sydney Task & Responsibilities Set up and dismantle of rope access rigging and other relevant equipment; Safely set-up rope access gear, ladders and other physical equipment, while placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering; Select and prepare paints to ensure required colours, by mixing portions of pigment, oil, thinning and drying additives; Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint and wallpaper as well as fixing woodwork, if required; Conduct thorough leak detection in order to fix any cracks and puncture found, as well as to smooth and seal surfaces by filling such holes; Carry-out painting work on building exteriors, via rope access; Apply paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprays and the painting equipment; Undertake minor building façade repairs, such as render and concrete repairs, if needed (also via rope access); Work on finishing touches by hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges; Replace expansion points, if needed; Clean and maintain equipment and work areas; and Repair windows and replace glass in wooden and metal frames, if required. Qualifications & Experience AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) At least 3 years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in similar industry. Proven ability to work hands-on and complete tasks. Experience in industrial and commercial painting is desirable.
