About the Division / Team Our Hunter Valley network primarily services the Hunter Valley coal chain – the world’s largest thermal coal export operation – by providing an efficient and reliable rail transportation system between mines and the Port of Newcastle. We manage the movement of around 250 trains per day on our network. Around half of these being coal trains and the other half comprised of passenger services, as well as grain, general intermodal, and other bulk freight trains. About the Opportunity As a Rail Labourer, you will be operating and performing general maintenance activities associated heavy rail bound plant and equipment. We will pay for all of your training and provide you with on-the-job mentoring in order for you to succeed. You need to have good written and oral communication skills together with the ability to work in a team environment whilst holding safety as a core value. You will be happy to work outdoors in rain, hail or shine and won't be afraid to get your hands dirty and contribute to our team. Carry out routine and ad-hoc maintenance duties on ARTC’s network Undertake safeworking in-line with rules and procedures Participate in the On-Call roster at the provisioning centre. Participate and assist in problem solving associated with the asset performance or condition.
