Community Enforcement Officer - Casual Pool Community Enforcement Officer – Casual Staff THE OPPORTUNITY: Are you motivated, reliable, and community-minded? Community Enforcement Officers play an important role in maintaining public safety, amenity, and regulatory compliance across the Fairfield Local Government Area. In this casual, on‑call role, you will assist with parking enforcement and a wide range of regulatory and public safety duties. You will contribute to positive outcomes for our community through education, investigation, and appropriate enforcement action in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policy. All officers are expected to act with professionalism, integrity, impartiality, and compassion in the delivery of high‑quality customer service. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Enforcement of parking legislation, including CBD turnover and heavy vehicle parking restrictions Patrols targeting unauthorised street vendors Managing and responding to Roads Act offences Enforcement of Local Government Act offences in public areas Responding to public safety concerns, obstructions, hazards and compliance requests Supporting targeted operations and investigations Any other duties as directed by the Team Leader or Manager ABOUT YOU: You will ideally have: A sound understanding of Council’s responsibilities under the Local Government Act, Road Rules, Roads Act, and other relevant legislation. Qualifications in Regulatory Services, Local Government, or significant experience in compliance, community safety, or similar fields. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage conflict professionally and respectfully. A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and representing Council with integrity and impartiality. An understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and the handling of sensitive information. Competence in using mobile devices, office software, email, and electronic reporting systems. WHAT WE OFFER: Flexible, casual on‑call roles with varying hours between 5:00am and 10:00pm, Monday to Sunday. Hourly rate: $39.15 – $45.85, plus: 25% casual loading Penalties apply for weekend work 12% employer superannuation contribution. Uniform, PPE, and a work‑related mobile phone.
