Learn more at Job Function: Communications & Corporate/External Affairs Job Sub Function: Internal Communications Job Category: People Leader All Job Posting Locations: North Ryde, New South Wales, Australia Job Description: Location: Macquarie Park, NSW Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Fixed Term Contract (Parental Leave Cover) Johnson & Johnson MedTech ANZ is seeking a dynamic Manager, Communications & Public Affairs to lead strategic internal and external communications that drive business growth and strengthen our reputation across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you will be responsible for managing internal and external communications to drive business objectives for Johnson & Johnson MedTech ANZ, with a key focus on: 1. Drive growth for the business units Develop and implement communication strategies to support the key priorities, based on the ANZ J&J MedTech strategy. Act as integrated business partner to the MedTech business units to provide communication counsel in support of critical and priority business growth objectives. 2. Build J&J MedTech’s leadership through creating compelling communication programs for new product launches, patient education, disease awareness and other related activities Partner with business stakeholders to create innovative programs to generate SOV and impact for product launches, market entry of new technologies and innovations. Create on‑going stories through effective PR efforts to raise awareness of diseases. Partner with Marketing team to develop effective patient education activities by driving high quality media coverage and content. Explore new / creative ways to engage HCPs and patients to raise the awareness of disease treatments. 3. Internal communications to cultivate culture and engage employees across all levels Partner with HR and leadership to develop internal communication strategy and programs to support the needs of business and culture development across the J&J MedTech ANZ organization & respective business units. Lead key employee engagement activities by designing relevant and impactful content, which include but not limited to Town‑halls, kick‑off meetings, global executive visits and etc. 4. Raise and protect J&J MedTech’s reputation in Australia and New Zealand by proactively developing a highly impactful corporate communication strategy with effective communications initiatives and programs Lead and champion the J&J MedTech brand to engage external and internal stakeholders. Explore opportunities to profile J&J MedTech as an industry leader in trade and business publications. Collaborate with the wider CPA team of J&J Innovative Medicine to identify opportunities to amplify and maximize J&J’s impact to our Credo stakeholders on external platforms in ANZ. 5. Lead and manage ANZ MedTech Social media activations and content creation ANZ Lead for LinkedIn, working with Global Digital & Social Team, to drive execution of ANZ MedTech LinkedIn channel and connecting right message with right audience. Develop creative, connected and disruptive social media content (organic and paid) for J&J MedTech ANZ social media platforms in line with J&J’s global social media policy and guidelines, working with stakeholders within the ANZ business. Work with content creator to develop specific social content. Maintain strong understanding of current industry, thought leadership, social media, and health policy trends affecting the J&J MedTech’s reputation in the market. What we’re looking for: Education & Experience: Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. 6–10 years’ experience in corporate communications, ideally in healthcare or consultancy. Core Expertise: Proven ability to design and execute integrated communication campaigns across multiple channels. Strong media relations and stakeholder management skills, with experience in issues and crisis communication. Deep understanding of the ANZ media landscape and established relationships with health journalists. Skills & Attributes: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to navigate complex organizations and manage multiple stakeholders effectively. Professional maturity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines while aligning with strategic direction. Positive attitude, resilience, and ability to work across diverse teams and regions. Commitment to compliance with medical, legal, and HCC regulations.
