In the beautiful coastal town of Whyalla, our Comfort Inn Whyalla proudly features Restaurant 99 – a local favorite offering exceptional dining and warm hospitality. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver an outstanding culinary experience to our guests. About the Role As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring consistent quality, creativity, and efficiency. You will work closely with our leadership team to achieve service goals, uphold food safety standards, and inspire a positive and professional kitchen culture. Key Responsibilities Oversee all kitchen operations including menu planning, preparation, and service delivery Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene Lead, train, and mentor the kitchen team to achieve excellence Manage stock control, ordering, and cost efficiencies Ensure compliance with food safety and OH&S standards Collaborate with management to create seasonal menus and specials Display strong leadership with a calm and professional presence under pressure Desirable Attributes Established Head Chef in previous positions Evidence of Head Chef experience Proficiency in kitchen operations, ordering and staff management. Financially astute, adaptable to the everchanging landscape of the industry A passion for delivering fantastic customer experiences Demonstrated ability to create a positive work environment that engages the team, maximizes productivity and efficiency Always maintain composure under pressure, utilize leadership team and drive successful communication pathways Personal Qualities Required Ability to foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external customers Open and transparent attitude to problem solving Professional and well presented at all times Excellent documentation and reporting skills A calm, positive and solution-based mindset Position descriptions available on request.
