About the Role We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic apprentice to join our team and complete a Certificate III in Electrical Fitting. The key objective of this apprenticeship is to develop the technical skills and tradesmanship you are studying at TAFE by applying them directly in a real work environment. You will work alongside qualified tradespeople, gaining hands‑on experience with tools, equipment, and systems relevant to your trade. This apprenticeship provides practical exposure to equipment servicing, fault‑finding, preventative maintenance, inspections, and safe work procedures, helping you build the confidence and competence to succeed as a tradesperson. What You Will Do Perform supervised mechanical tasks under the guidance of experienced tradespeople. Participate in structured on‑the‑job training complete TAFE assessments. Assist with inspections, testing, maintenance, and workshop support activities. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organised manner. Record work accurately and report faults or hazards promptly. Follow all workplace health, safety, and compliance procedures. Take on more complex tasks as skills develop, applying TAFE learning in practical situations. Work collaboratively with other apprentices, tradespeople, and workshop staff. Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude at work and at TAFE. Key Skills & Attributes Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge suitable for an entry‑level apprentice. Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop trade skills. Understanding of safe workshop practices and WHS requirements. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and commitment to TAFE studies. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a safe, supportive workshop culture. Enrolled, or eligible for enrolment, in Certificate III in Electrical Fitting, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or Certificate III in Electrotechnology. Commitment to attend all TAFE classes and complete required coursework and assessments. Safety & Working Environment Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations. Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe practices immediately.
