This role is offered from 08 July 2024 until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

This includes making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.About Lockyer District State High SchoolSecondary education in Gatton was first offered on the 1st January 1913 as a secondary department attached to Gatton State School. In 1917, due to increasing enrolments, Gatton High School was created on the present Gatton State School site. This became Lockyer District High School when it was opened at its present location in 1961.Since that time, our school has developed with the town in establishing a positive and respected reputation and is recognised as a leader in the fields of academic, sporting and cultural excellence. Our school has produced many of the community's local leaders and today is home to 950 students.Lockyer District High School's mission is to provide a safe, tolerant and disciplined environment within which young adults prepare to be active and reflective Australian citizens with a will for life long learning.About the RoleThe successful applicant will, as Acting HOD (Inclusion - 10 to 12), be responsible for leading the curriculum offerings and adjustments in place to support diverse learning needs in our school. You will be required to lead teaching staff to provide quality learning outcomes for all students and lead continuous school improvement aligned to our school's strategic priorities. As an instructional leader, you will be focused on ensuring all students develop their global competencies so they can transition into the future workforce with confidence and resilience.As such, you will be required to demonstrate your previous success with:The consideration of curriculum and cross curricula learning experiences that meet the requirements of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA with a focus on support for diverse learners.Engaging students in skill development through authentic learning experiences.Engaging with the wider school community to nurture quality positive relationships between students, parents, teachers and stakeholders across the school and wider community.Working collaboratively to manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the faculty to achieve goals.As the Acting Head of Department (Inclusion) you will have responsibility for the following:Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Set high standards for student and staff performance.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.How to ApplyPlease attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); andA 2-pg written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).We are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights
