At Randstad Defence, we’re proud to be partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS)—a leading force in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced defence systems— currently seeking TWO Technical Procurement Specialists to join their team in Canberra, one permenant and one 6 month contract. If you are an organised and driven professional looking for a career as a Technical Procurement Specialist this opportunity is for you to join a growing Australian technology company. The candidate must be an Australian citizen and be eligible for a security clearance. About the role : This role is responsible for the sourcing and procurement of make-to-order items from external vendors, and for managing on-time delivery and technical and quality issues relating to such supplies in accordance with EOS commercial, production, and supply chain management objectives. Key Responsibilities : Analysing specifications and drawings, and sourcing and requesting quotes for supply of make-to-order materials and components for EOS production requirements. Communicate with vendors regarding specification and quality issues and request concessions, following EOS DS processes and procedures. Work with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives. Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production. Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as required, and update systems. Liaise with relevant EOS DS stakeholders as needed to resolve queries and to ensure all required information is available to complete the RFQ and purchase process. Qualifications and Experience : Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials. Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification. APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded. CIPS accreditations are highly regarded. Comprehensive experience in international sourcing and procurement. Experience in interpreting requirements of, and sourcing products and materials using engineering drawings and specifications.
