Overview Residential and NDIS Care Workers (Casual) - supporting youth aged 12 to 17 in care placements. This role involves providing around-the-clock care as part of a team to help young people in our care placements thrive. Responsibilities Build positive relationships with young people and your team Follow a routine developed for each young person’s needs Transport young people to and from school, day programs and appointments Assist in the implementation of programs designed for growth and development Complete summary notes and maintain accurate records Help create a safe, homely environment for residents Benefits Paid induction A range of shifts including weekend and out-of-hours work Evening, night and weekend penalty rates Salary levels aligned with the Schads award (Level 3.1 when qualified or Level 2.1 if unqualified) Annual wage increases in line with CPI Supervision support and access to a free Employee Assistance Program Paid Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training and Needs-Based Framework Training About Allambi Care Allambi Care is a multi-disciplinary leader in the human services field across Victoria and NSW. We support our community’s most vulnerable people through tailored services and programs, with a “never give up” approach and over 40 years’ experience. We work to support adolescents who cannot live with their families and may have Child Protection Orders, requiring out-of-home care. Qualifications and mandatory units The following criteria are essential for success in this role: Current Working with Children Check (for paid employment) Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID003) National Police Check (must be obtained via the Employment Screening Group) International Police Check for applicants who have lived outside Australia for 12 months or more in the last 10 years Current driver’s licence Willingness to participate in a Worker/Carer Exclusion Scheme Check Current NDIS Worker Check (can be obtained via Vic service portal) The following qualifications are mandatory: Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention; or a recognised relevant qualification In addition, all residential care workers must complete the three mandatory units of competency within the first 3 months of employment if not already obtained: CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma informed care CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behaviour Allambi Care can facilitate the applicant in obtaining these units within the first 3 months through our partnered RTO (RTO no 45241).
