Diagnostic Audiologist

The Role: As part of the multidisciplinary Statewide Audiology Service, the Diagnostic Audiologist: Provides high level audiological diagnosis and management to adults and children referred to the service. Manages the day-to-day operations of the Audiology component of the Tasmanian Cochlear Implant Program and Tasmanian Newborn Hearing Screening Program. This includes: Providing cochlear implant assessments and rehabilitation to children & adults. Undertaking infant diagnostic assessments. Providing information and advice to patients and their families on the suitability of available treatment options including implantable technology. You will need Broad knowledge of, and demonstrated clinical expertise in, paediatric audiological assessment, management and rehabilitation, including the assessment of infants and children with additional disabilities. Proven experience in fitting and monitoring amplification and assistive hearing technology, including Cochlear Implants. Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative and manage a complex case load without supervision. Details of appointment: One permanent full time and one permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $110,425 to $119,290 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
