Package Engineering Lead

This is a key leadership role providing railway engineering expertise for the PTA’s Rail Revitalisation Program. You’ll oversee scope development, design, construction, commissioning and integration, ensuring compliance with regulations, standards and safety management requirements. As Engineering Lead, you’ll drive assurance processes, deliver technical solutions, and guide major maintenance packages that strengthen the reliability and performance of WA’s rail network. You’ll manage engineering execution, contracts and consultants, balancing quality, cost and timelines while mitigating risks. With responsibilities spanning design review, technical advice, project coordination and stakeholder engagement, you’ll lead a team of professionals to deliver safe, efficient and high‑quality rail infrastructure. About You To excel in this role, you should possess: Professional engineering qualifications; proven expertise in planning, design, and construction of complex urban rail networks; advanced skills in railway engineering, track construction, rail systems, and contract management. Strong knowledge of Australian standards and Codes of Practice, with demonstrated ability to deliver compliant, high‑quality rail infrastructure projects. Management & Leadership: Proven ability to lead staff, consultants, and contractors effectively to deliver agreed outcomes. Exceptional written and verbal skills; proven ability to build stakeholder relationships, consult at senior levels, collaborate in teams, and negotiate persuasively. Advanced conceptual and analytical skills with a strategic focus; adept at creating innovative solutions to complex challenges.
