Computer Room Solutions Pty Ltd – Dandenong VIC The Sheet Metal Fabricator role at Computer Room Solutions Pty Ltd, based in Dandenong South, is a full‑time position within a dynamic and growing manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for fabricating and assembling sheet metal components according to specifications and engineering drawings. This includes cutting, bending, welding, and finishing metal parts to high‑quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety, precision, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Fabrication and Assembly Use a range of hand tools and machinery—including but not limited to turrets and press brakes—to cut, bend, and form materials. Set up, program, and adjust machines to suit product requirements. Assemble metal components using welding, riveting, bolting, or soldering techniques. Finish and polish fabricated items to required standards using grinders, sanders, or other finishing tools. Assist other machine operators when required. Quality Assurance Inspect finished products for accuracy and defects, ensuring all components meet CRS quality standards. Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate production. Identify and correct fabrication defects or deviations. Complete quality control documentation where required. Maintenance and Safety Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication machinery. Follow all company rules, policies, and health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Workflow and Communication Complete assigned tasks efficiently and meet production timelines. Submit daily production records and ensure accuracy of time and activity reporting. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate work and resolve issues. Use computer‑aided manufacturing (CAM) software where applicable. Skills & Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or related fields. Trade qualification in Engineering – Fabrication or related field. Strong background in manufacturing and sheet‑metal work. Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices. Proficiency in setting up and programming CNC machines to produce precision parts. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining quality standards. Effective teamwork and communication skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
