Position Fellow - Burns - 2027 at Alfred Health Location The Alfred (Adult burns), Melbourne, Victoria. Overview We invite applicants for the 12‑month Burns Fellowship commencing August 2027. The Victorian Adult Burns Service at The Alfred is the state‑wide provider of burns care for all adults with complex major burn injuries in Victoria, and collaborates on education and training for clinicians and the community. Key Responsibilities Provide acute care for all severely injured burns patients in Victoria. Deliver secondary reconstructive surgery for burns patients in association with the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit. Offer post‑operative rehabilitation and scar management services. Assess and treat outpatients with minor burns. Conduct rostered theatre lists, care of inpatients (elective and non‑elective), and assess referrals from the Emergency department and other hospital departments during office and after‑hours. Complete a research project during the Fellowship – clinical, basic science or translational research. Qualifications Applications are open to Plastic or General Surgeons who have recently completed training or are expected to complete training in 2026 and who seek to pursue further subspecialty training in Burns.
