Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Specialist Supagas is a fast-growing national, leading supplier of cylinder gases such as LPG, Industrial Gases, Hospitality Gases and Helium. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Specialist to join our team, reporting to the National HSEQ Manager. In this role, you will support operations in meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance, while embodying our “Yes We Can” ethos. This is a full-time, permanent position, with an expected start date in January 2026 working within a supportive, close-knit team and will involve intra- and interstate travel as required. Key Duties and Responsibilities Monitor, evaluate, and enhance safety, environmental sustainability, and quality systems to mitigate risks, prevent incidents, and drive continuous improvement. Mentor and collaborate with departments to support continuous improvement within the Plan, Do, Check, Act framework. Lead and promote a strong safety culture, championing behavioural-based safety and a positive, solutions-focused approach. Conduct HSEQ audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying hazards, and implementing effective control measures. Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation, standards, licences, and internal HSEQ policies and procedures. Support incident investigations, analyse data to identify trends and root causes, prepare clear reports and recommendations, and ensure timely closure and effectiveness of corrective actions. Develop and support HSEQ training and awareness programs in partnership with the training team and operational leaders. Analyse HSEQ data and KPIs, prepare dashboards and reports, and provide insights to inform decision-making and improvement initiatives. Assist in developing and reviewing Safe Operating Procedures, and support customer safety initiatives, including safe handling and storage of gases. Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate HSEQ records, ensuring compliance documentation, timely reporting, and closure of corrective actions. Formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management (Degree or Diploma preferred). Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Proven experience in executing and managing HSEQ and technical internal audit programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and achieve outcomes across all organisational levels and with external stakeholders. High attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and a methodical, accurate approach to work. Results-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Positive, safety-focused attitude, demonstrating initiative, sound judgement, and commitment to ongoing compliance and improvement. Proficiency with business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, Pentaho, or similar platforms. Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
