About the Position Our client is seeking a full-time Middleware Solutions Engineer with a relevant Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years of experience in integration or middleware development. This role reports directly to Welliam Tan, Head of Digital Innovation. 38 Hours per week. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement software applications, including Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) systems, ensuring adherence to functional and technical specifications. Work closely with clients to understand their needs, ensuring accurate translation of requirements into functional specifications and software code that meets both functional and security standards. Design and implement API integrations using secure API‑led connectivity frameworks, ensuring the security of data through measures such as JWT validation, rate‑limiting, and schema validation, in alignment with system specifications. Write and maintain automated tests (MUnit, JUnit) for full software coverage, and produce technical documentation, including system integration and mapping, to meet compliance and business requirements. Apply architectural principles, design patterns, and reusable templates to create scalable, maintainable, and high‑performance integration solutions aligned with business models. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, and deployment, ensuring compliance with development standards and timelines. Implement, configure, and maintain secure cloud‑based deployment environments (AWS, MuleSoft) to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of software systems in a cloud environment. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to automate business workflows and optimise integration processes, ensuring efficient and scalable software solutions that meet functional and performance requirements. Research and evaluate emerging middleware technologies and integration platforms to identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend software upgrades that align with organisational needs and budget constraints. Debug, diagnose, and correct errors in middleware applications and integration flows within established testing protocols, ensuring all components, including security controls, perform to specification. Monitor and analyse operational metrics and system performance data to identify bottlenecks, anomalies, and optimisation opportunities across integration platforms and middleware solutions. Develop and maintain data transformation logic and mapping specifications to ensure data quality and integrity across various database systems and applications throughout the integration lifecycle. Implement encryption, decryption, and secure data handling protocols within integration solutions to protect sensitive information during data transit and storage. Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities in middleware and integration systems throughout the software development lifecycle, implementing appropriate security controls. Provide technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders on middleware architecture, integration strategies, and cost‑benefit analysis for proposed system enhancements and technology investments. Maintain version control, code repositories, and deployment documentation in accordance with quality‑accredited standards, ensuring traceability and compliance with organisational procedures and policies. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in a related field or higher qualification. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in integration or middleware development. Strong experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API design, and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of Salesforce, AWS, and logistics system integrations. Excellent problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational and interpersonal abilities with proven teamwork capability. Effective time management and multitasking to meet project deadlines. Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all client interactions. Design and implement scalable middleware architectures to support enterprise integration needs. Configure and monitor cloud‑based deployment environments to ensure system reliability and performance. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to automate workflows and streamline business processes through integration solutions.
