About the Opportunity The Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health Cadetship position has been developed to provide the cadet with pre‑graduation professional experience while undertaking undergraduate studies. The Cadet will work under the direction and supervision of a Health Professional within their level of education and with clearly defined role parameters. Responsibilities Provide patient‑centered, family-oriented, evidence‑based care within an inter‑professional team environment to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. Provide care and support as delegated relating to patients' activities of daily living, ensuring patients' personal needs and comforts are maintained. Assist in providing a safe patient environment and additional supervision ensuring patient safety. Provide general support for the health care team, ensuring effective and efficient care delivery. What You'll Bring Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem‑solve. A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management. The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Currently enrolled full time in a Bachelor or Master’s entry degree in Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health discipline. Progressed beyond the first year of studies, maintaining a pass grade in all subjects. Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Required Evidence A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check. Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
