Classroom Teacher Numeracy – Cherry Creek $9,000 Incentive Offer Parkville College is a multi‑campus specialist school that delivers education at Cherry Creek, Parkville Youth Justice Precinct, and Secure Care Units. We provide the Victorian Curriculum (Foundation‑10), Senior Secondary Certificates (VCE, VM, VPC) and vocational studies, and we support the development and growth of young people aged 10‑21 years in custody or secure care. Teachers must be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, including classroom rotation, unit work, and outreach. Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills, and experience responding to student learning needs. SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student growth. SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice and providing feedback to students and parents. SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement. SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values; reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality. SC6 Provide an example that demonstrates your understanding and implementation of culturally responsive practice in an educational setting. Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges. The primary focus is on planning, preparing and teaching programs to achieve student outcomes, engaging in critical reflection and inquiry, and contributing to the school program. Experienced teachers may undertake additional duties as appropriate. Classroom Teacher Range 2 Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes, contributing to school policy and mentoring other teachers. Expectations include: content knowledge, modelling best practice, mentoring, providing expert advice, supervising student teachers, and using student data to inform teaching decisions. Classroom Teacher Range 1 Range 1 teachers are developing practitioners with structured support, responsible for delivering programmes, classroom management, subject content, and supporting policy and project teams. Responsibilities Direct teaching of groups and individual students. Contributing to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. Undertaking other teaching and organisational duties as determined by the Principal. Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions. Undertaking other non‑teaching supervisory duties. Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area(s). Other Information This position attracts a pro‑rata incentive payment of $9,000 (pre‑tax) for the successful candidate who meets the eligibility criteria set out under conditions of employment. The payment is made half on commencement of employment and the balance on completion of 12 months of employment. *Both Graduates and Experienced Teachers are encouraged to apply. Conditions of Employment All staff employments include broad conditions and working arrangements. Appointment is subject to satisfactory pre‑employment condition checks. Probationary period may apply in the first year, with induction and support programs. Full terms and conditions are available on the Department’s Human Resources website. Qualification Requirements Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching. If the teacher completed an Australian postgraduate initial teaching program or course on or after 1 January 2024, they must demonstrate completion of an accredited program as per AITSL standards. If the teacher graduated from a Victorian ITE program after 1 July 2016, they must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test (LANTITE) required for that program. #J-18808-Ljbffr
