Data Quality & Risk Analyst – iSelect Join iSelect as a Data Quality & Risk Analyst to support our mission of providing reliable, secure financial products to Australians. In this role you will ensure data accuracy, implement governance controls and support compliance efforts across the organization. Key Responsibilities Define, implement, and monitor enterprise data quality rules, standards and automated monitoring dashboards using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data governance platforms. Conduct data profiling, validation and anomaly detection to identify inconsistencies, duplicates, missing values and inaccuracies; investigate root causes with Data Owners, Engineers and Analysts and drive remediation. Identify and assess data risks associated with poor data quality, incomplete datasets or regulatory non‑compliance; develop risk mitigation plans and support regulatory reporting, audits and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, BCBS 239, etc.). Support the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies and best practices; maintain data quality documentation, issue logs and remediation plans; collaborate with Metadata & Lineage specialists to ensure proper classification, lineage tracking and documentation. Perform periodic data audits on key data sets to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards; develop and present data quality scorecards and risk reports to senior management. Work closely with Data Engineering, IT, Business Intelligence, Risk and Compliance teams to embed data quality controls into workflows; act as liaison between business and technical teams and provide training and support on best practices for maintaining high data integrity. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or related field. Experience working with data quality frameworks, methodologies and best practices; strong knowledge of data validation techniques, issue management and remediation strategies. Proficiency in SQL for data querying, validation and quality checks; experience with data profiling and anomaly detection tools. Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Data Quality, Talend, Alation, Trillium, IBM InfoSphere) and BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.). Understanding of risk management principles related to data integrity, governance and regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, BCBS 239, etc.). Strong ability to investigate and resolve data issues in collaboration with Data Engineering and Business teams; excellent communication skills to document findings and present data risks to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Experience working in a cross‑functional team environment with multiple stakeholders and ability to integrate metadata and lineage tracking with data quality frameworks to improve data reliability and trustworthiness. Experience working with cross‑functional teams including Data Engineering, IT, Compliance, Risk and Business Intelligence; proven experience in delivering data quality dashboards, process improvements and governance initiatives.
