Dance for Parkinson's Australia – Concord NSW Dance for Parkinsons provides movement and music classes to assist people with Parkinson’s Disease. Classes are one hour in length and are conducted in many locations around Sydney. The class begins seated and moves to supported standing and then unsupported movement as the class progresses. Volunteer Responsibilities Arrive early to set up chairs and welcome participants Assist participants as required, ensuring their needs are met Take attendance details and collect class payments via phone technology Act as a caring support person for class participants with Parkinson’s Disease Benefits The volunteer will gain satisfaction from helping those in a less fortunate situation. The volunteer will benefit from attending a weekly dance/movement class. The volunteer will benefit from being part of a larger national organisation. Training on the role via an online course is provided; this is a requirement for the placement.
