The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) is seeking a Freedom of Information Officer (Level 4) to play a key role in delivering transparent and efficient access to information under the Freedom of Information Act 1992. This is your chance to make a real impact Help shape transparency and accountability by managing requests that influence environmental decisions across Western Australia. Responsibilities Coordinate and process Freedom of Information (FOI) applications in accordance with legislative requirements. Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify and compile relevant information for release. Provide guidance to applicants and staff on FOI processes, ensuring clarity and compliance. Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement of information governance practices. Bring expertise in interpreting the Freedom of Information Act and related legislation to make informed decisions, along with strong communication and negotiation skills to manage sensitive requests. Apply creative thinking, rapid problem-solving, and strong organisation to meet deadlines and deliver excellent outcomes.
