As Operational Excellence Advisor – Quality, the goal is for you to enhance raw mix design, product consistency, and quality performance metrics through deep lab process integration. You will lead the full POM implementation of quality and support efficiency increase plans. From the quarry/mine to cement dispatch, you will support teams to ensure a sustainable quality management system that drives continuous improvement, cost optimisation, decarbonisation, and consistent product performance. Responsibilities Develop and maintain an integrated system that proactively identifies quality weak points across all production stages and implements corrective and preventive actions in coordination with operations and process teams. Oversee all quality control activities related to raw materials, fuels, alternative materials, clinker, cement, and shipping. Supervise the quarry quality plan and ensure raw mix consistency, supporting optimal quarry utilization and alignment with decarbonization and cost targets. Implement and optimise digital tools and quality automation systems. Monitor daily quality indicators and deviations; initiate root cause analysis and corrective measures in collaboration with plant functions to ensure stable and efficient production. Support the development of customer-specific products and ensure customer satisfaction through close collaboration with production and commercial teams. Oversee laboratory operations, equipment calibration, and test method validation. Develop and coach local quality personnel, fostering a culture of ownership, accuracy, and safety within the laboratory and across interfaces. Lead or contribute to cross-functional and ad-hoc projects that support the plant’s operational and strategic goals. Propose effective capex for improving quality performance and efficiency. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree qualifications Chemical Engineering, Processing Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline. Further qualifications would be viewed favourably. 10+ years of experience in cement plant quality management. Considerable knowledge of XRF/XRD, clinker mineralogy, cement testing, mix design and optimisation. Proven track record of successes and turnarounds in quality control outcomes Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills Experience with AFRs (alternative fuels and raw materials) and decarbonisation programs Experience leading, coaching and mentoring technical and operational staff in quality control Knowledge of quarry operations as it relates to quality control Product management and/or product development Why Join Cement Australia?
