Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.In this role, you will report to the project Lead Electrical Engineer and be accountable for assigned activities in electrical engineering discipline. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to design, develop, modify, and evaluate deliverables in accordance with project scope. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of a project’s electrical engineering aspects are met.Major Responsibilities:
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard
electrical
engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using
independent
judgment in making adaptations and modificationsParticipates in the design, development and modification of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, distribution and use of electricity utilizing relevant procedures, design standards and guides.Coordinates
work and collaborates with other engineering disciplinesCoordinates electrical
engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groupsPrepares conceptual studies,
designs
, reports or proposalsProvides technical assistance to other
electrical
personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standardsProvides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project
electrical
requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project executionEducation and Experience Requirements:
A recognized degree in electrical engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university.Relevant work experience of 5 to 8 yearsRequired Knowledge and Skills:
Relevant work experience in FEED, proposal & detailed engineeringpreferably in an EPCindustry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil and gas plants.Have demonstrated experience in the Australian Mining and Metals industry.Knowledge of electrical system studies using ETAP/DIgSilent Power factory software to produce shortcircuit, load flow, motor starting & voltage drop , relay setting & protection coordination, arc flash and earthing studies.Previous experience in preparation of single line diagrams, schematics, load lists, MV and LV cable calculations, cable schedules, equipment lists, and material take offs.Should have worked on equipmentsizing, specifications,MR preparation, technicalbid evaluation and vendorprint reviews of various electrical equipment like MV & LV switchgear,MCCs, power & distribution transformers, DC systems / UPS, Cables, generator circuit breaker, bus duct, lighting fixtures.Review of 3D Models and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Client, Vendor and Sub Contractors.Ability to participate and contribute to project risk assessments including HSECiD, HSECiC, HAZiD and HAZOP’s.Should be conversant with electrical layouts such as routing, equipment, lighting, grounding & lightning protection, substation layouts etc.Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
