Jasper Farms is one of Australia’sleading growers of avocados, currently operating three avocado orchards within close proximity of Busselton. An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will become an essential component of a small but highly motivated team. About the role As the orchard Mechanic you will be integral in the effective operation of the orchard you will be based at. We offer a diverse role, maintaining and operating a considerable sized fleet of agricultural machinery and implements. Your key responsibilities will be to Service, repair and maintain machinery fleet to provide optimum reliability and maximum availability Liase with dealer support networks in order to maintain and improve machinery reliability Modify machinery as required to enable tasks to be performed productively, safely and fruit retention is maximised on trees Maintain computerised log of all machinery repair for historical, equipment management and WHS requirements Manage the orchard workshop, monitoring and maintain consumables, oils, filters and commonly used spares About you The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and will have demonstrated a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You will be passionate about what you do and possess the following: Experience in operating machinery. Strong commitment to safe work practices is essential Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills matched with the ability to come up with innovative solutions Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and self-manage competing priorities Proven ability to deliver against set objectives. Motivated, hardworking, flexible, dependable, and confident A team player with a positive attitude to change and new challenges Work proactively, while maintaining the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly evolving environment.
