Pastoral Care Volunteer, HammondCare Residential Care Woy Woy & Erina HammondCare pastoral care volunteers support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly residents in an aged care home. As a volunteer, you will be a Christian actively involved with a local Christian church in the area. You will supplement and complement the work of our Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: Support people to meet their spiritual needs Nurture spiritual development Qualifications Skills required for this role: High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral Care training, e.g., Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or completion of HammondCare pastoral care training – Spiritual Care Series – in preparation for becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Your Impact Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience for both the person you visit and yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help improve quality of life and reduce isolation. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Details Category : Seniors & Aged Care Commitment : Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work : Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required : We would be happy to discuss a time to suit your visits while being supported by our Pastoral Care Coordinators. This opportunity would suit someone available for 1-2 hours between 9am-4pm Monday to Friday weekly or fortnightly for 6 months or longer.
