Department Department of Education WA – South Hedland WA Position This is a 12 month fixed term, full‑time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency. The Role We are looking for a teacher of Years 3–6 who possesses innovative, enthusiastic teaching practices and a strong commitment to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day. The successful applicant will plan challenging, engaging programmes using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and support whole‑school processes as a collegial, effective collaborator. Responsibilities Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for Years 3–6. Improve student literacy and numeracy outcomes through explicit teaching and instructional strategies. Plan and implement challenging, engaging programmes that align with the Western Australian Curriculum. Develop positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. Support and participate in whole‑school improvement initiatives. Commit to ongoing professional growth and development. Qualifications Knowledge, skills and experience teaching Years 3–6. Strong capacity for planning challenging and engaging programmes. Experience with Heggarty, Letters and Sounds and Talk for Writing is highly desirable. Passionate, motivated, and a skilled educator committed to whole‑school approaches. Ability to work collegially and collaboratively.
