Company: Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd About the Role Do you have a Mechanical trade qualification, tertiary qualification in drafting or experience as a design drafter to join Hastings Deering, one of the leading global Caterpillar dealers in this exciting opportunity. This permanent, full time position will see you develop quality designs, assembly drawings and corresponding manufacturing as well as leaning on your expertise to investigate and recommend design modifications and engineering solutions for CAT Equipment. Key Responsibilities Design a diverse range of mechanical solutions alongside our customers. Collaborate with workshop teams to assist with delivery of customer solutions. Take the lead on design related risk assessments. Ensure all designs meet relevant Australian and International Standards and applicable Legislation. Ensure all designs are safe for manufacturing, installation, operations and maintenance personnel. About You Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Experience in 2D or 3D design tools. Well-developed communication skills and the ability to make clear and precise decisions. Possess high level of motivation, initiative and time management skills. Tertiary qualifications in drafting or an electrical trade qualification will be regarded advantageously; or Technical knowledge of heavy diesel machinery or skilled in the drafting workflow. Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software or equivalent will be highly regarded.
