About the role Altrad is seeking an experienced HSE Lead to support a major Iron Ore Structural Remediation project in the Pilbara. This site-based leadership position operates on a 2 : 2 FIFO roster from Perth and plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving our safety performance across a key long-term maintenance project within the resources sector. In this role, you will provide visible safety leadership, oversee the implementation and continual improvement of HSE systems, and ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and Altrad policies. Key responsibilities Lead the implementation and maintenance of HSE management systems in alignment with company and client requirements Oversee risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to ensure proactive hazard management Lead incident investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions Facilitate pre-starts, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions to build capability across the workforce Review and approve permits, JSA, and SWMS documentation Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to the onsite team to strengthen HSE ownership and accountability Work closely with project leadership to identify opportunities for improvement and embed best practice Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders while upholding Altrad's "Our Safety Culture" values About you You're an influential leader with a hands-on approach and a commitment to building a proactive, engaged safety culture. You thrive in busy operational environments and are confident working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient outcomes. You'll bring Diploma in OH&S, HSEQ, Risk Management, or related discipline (minimum Cert IV required) 5+ years' experience in a HSE leadership role, ideally within construction or maintenance in the resources sector Comprehensive understanding of HSE legislation, standards, and industry best practices Proven experience in conducting incident investigations and implementing HSE system improvements Ability to deliver engaging training, coaching, and toolbox sessions Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills Why you should work for Altrad We provide the benefits you’d expect from a global company, but what makes us different?
