Barwon Water is also connected to the Melbourne system via the Melbourne Geelong pipeline.As a sector, we have some big challenges to tackle – we realise that for many of these challenges, we’re better off working together. For instance, we’re all adapting to fast population growth, climate change, and ageing infrastructure. This is why the Managing Directors created an Accord, which sets out how we intend to work and our shared priorities. To support this, we’ve created the Office of the Accord which will work across the sector.The RoleIn this 12-month role, you’ll work as a vital shared resource across the four metro water authorities and Barwon Water. The role is pivotal for advancing agreed strategic metropolitan water sector priorities, including long-term water security, self-determined water management by Traditional Owners, water literacy and efficiency, and the sector’s economic sustainability.This role will:Work directly with senior leaders in water utilities and government to progress sector collaboration as agreed to in the AccordProvide coordination to ensure Accord partners are working as one to achieve shared priority outcomesLead the oversight and governance of the AccordDevelop key strategic relationships both in and outside of the water sector to progress metro sector collaboration objectivesBuild a strong, enabling relationships with key stakeholders and the authorising environmentAbout YouYou’re an energetic, highly organised leader and driver of complex programs of work in dynamic environments.
