The Allied Health Hinterland at the Hinterland Facilities is seeking applications for a Allied Health Rural Generalist - Occupational Therapist (Rural Development Pathway) to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity As a HP3 to HP4 Rural Development Pathway position, you will have the opportunity to join our amazing team whilst providing high quality Occupational Therapy services to the Hinterland Community. As the successful candidate you will have the chance to build your skills under a formal supported pathway, completing an intensive development plan along the way. Upon successful completion of the development activities, you will have the opportunity to transition into a Senior HP4 role. To work as a member of a multidisciplinary & trans-disciplinary Allied Health team, delivering clinical services to clients in the Mackay Hospital and Health Services Hinterland, covering a range of clinical conditions, complexity, and age groups. This rural generalist position operates within a Professional Skill-Sharing and Delegation (PSSD) model of care by providing and participating in supervision and training in the use of skill-shared and delegated clinical tasks and by delivering an expanded scope of clinical practice. The position reports operationally to the Hinterland Allied Health Team Leader and professionally to the Director of Occupational Therapy. The team provide clinical care in person, via tele-heath and outreach throughout the Mackay Hospital and Health Service Hinterland. In certain circumstances overnight accommodation may be necessary. Participate in the HP3 to HP4 Rural Development Pathway as described in Queensland Health HR Policy B66 ( including successfully completing training and development in rural and remote practice, and applying learnings to enhance clinical and service outcomes. About the Team The Allied Health Hinterland team is one team that spans across the Mackay Hinterland encompassing Clermont, Moranbah and Dysart. The Allied Health Hinterland team provides clinical care across the continuum (inpatients, outpatients, RACF) to all these sites using a range of rural models of care including in person, tele-heath, outreach, and delegation. About our Hospital and Health Service Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
