Overview Alzheimer's Queensland is a progressive organisation which prides itself on being innovative and exceeding client's expectations. Our aim is to look after people with Dementia and their families to the best possible standard. We are seeking casual experienced and certified Dementia Respite Assistants to fill morning and afternoon shifts weekdays and the occasional overnight or weekend shift within our Multi‑Service Centre at Arundel. It is Alzheimer's Queensland's goal to recognise the individuality and uniqueness of every client by giving them the great care and support they deserve. In this role your key focus is communication and being client‑focused, with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people living with Dementia. We are looking for availability to work every second weekend on overnight shift as well as some 8‑hour shifts and some 4‑hour shifts during the week. Requirements for Success Experience in the provision of care for the frail aged and specifically people with dementia within a community, respite or facility role Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support or Community Care Ability to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with the flexibility to cover some weekend and night shifts. A dedicated focus on understanding and fulfilling client needs, empowering them to maintain their independence and active role within their community Current First Aid/CPR Certificate, driver licence Willingness to attend staff meetings & education Salary & Benefits Salary sacrifice benefits – up to $15,900 per annum tax‑free dollars ($611.55 per fortnight) Ongoing training & development opportunities A supportive team environment working alongside passionate professionals You will be joining a leading Dementia and Alzheimer’s care organisation with over 40 years of expertise, dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of Australians in need.
