About the role Our Children's Services Team are passionate educators and leaders who create safe, engaging environments for young minds to learn, grow, and thrive. Across 40 NSW schools, our OSHC Educators and Coordinators deliver enriching before‑ and after‑school care, packed with creativity, play, and learning. We seek a casual diploma‑trained educator to support children at our OSHC services at Mayfield West in the Newcastle region. A minimum availability of three afternoons per week (shifts starting from 2 pm) is required. As an OSHC Educator you will be responsible for the safety and well‑being of developing young minds, work closely with children and parents, and support OSHC Coordinators to maintain high service standards. You will create engaging, exciting and interactive activities through our Before School, After School and Vacation Care services. Key responsibilities You will provide fun and engaging activities for primary school‑age children. You will help design a calendar of inclusive, exciting and engaging program activities. Reporting to the Coordinators of our OSHC centres, you will be one of over 200 educators who support children across NSW. You will be able to follow our development pathways to learn new skills and build your career. Requirements Experience supervising and interacting with children. Ability to follow safeguarding priorities. Availability to supervise Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care hours. Current First Aid HLTAID012 – provide an emergency response in an education and care setting and CPR. Diploma in Childcare. Valid Working with Children Check. Police Check (paid for by the Y).
