Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017. The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition. Dugald River employs around 800 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. Reporting to the Underground Electrical Supervisor, you will ensure the safe installation and maintenance of underground mobile fleet automation systems. This includes all aspects of modern fleet automation systems - remote control stations, the necessary site infrastructure required to operate the system, and the on-vehicle components. We have multiple newly created positions based on an 8/6 dayshift (night shift as required) with drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa, or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane. Qualifications & Competencies: Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology. Strong understanding of the role that modern automation systems play in the underground metalliferous mining process. Good working knowledge of technologies used in underground mobile fleet automation, including Wi‑Fi and networking, teleremote and autonomous control systems, and general on‑board vehicle control systems such as CAN and electrohydraulic controls. Installation, testing/commissioning, and complex fault finding and repair of all aspects of mobile fleet automation systems including site infrastructure, remote control stations, and onboard hardware. Sandvik AutoMine training or experience is an advantage (consideration will be given to experience with other teleremote systems). Current  C Class License. Some of the key responsibilities will include: Manage preventative and corrective maintenance for Dugald River mobile fleet automation systems and platforms, supporting production and maintenance teams as needed. Assist the Coordinator – Mine Technology and DRM Production teams in achieving the mine’s production goals. Ensure compliance with MMG Process Framework and A2D Processes, including maintenance notifications, work scoping, and job confirmations. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives through the change management process.
