EXPERIENCED / SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT – PUBLIC PRACTICE Client-Facing | Strategic Advice | Small Team, One-In-All-In We’re a growing public practice seeking an experienced or senior tax accountant (5+ years’ public practice experience) who wants genuine responsibility, direct client relationships, and the opportunity to deliver strategic advice that goes beyond compliance. This role suits someone who enjoys being trusted to use their judgement, values autonomy, and prefers working in a small, low-politics team where everyone contributes and outcomes matter more than titles. ABOUT THE ROLE You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of business and individual clients, providing high-quality tax and accounting advice with a strong strategic focus. The ideal candidate will be engaged on a full-time basis, with flexibility to work a hybrid mix of office and work-from-home. We will also consider part-time arrangements for the right candidate, particularly at a senior level, where experience and contribution outweigh hours alone. This is a genuinely client-facing role, with involvement in planning, structuring and forward-looking discussions — not just year-end compliance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Managing and advising a client portfolio Preparation and review of income tax returns (individuals, companies and trusts) Preparation and review of financial statements and BAS Providing strategic tax planning and structuring advice Acting as a primary point of contact for clients Participating in client meetings and advisory discussions Exercising professional judgement with minimal supervision Supporting the wider team as needed to meet deadlines and client commitments ABOUT YOU 5+ years’ experience in public practice with a strong tax focus CA or CPA qualification Confidence owning and managing client relationships A commercial, practical approach to advice Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working in a small team where flexibility and accountability go hand-in-hand WHY JOIN US Small, trusted team with no internal politics Genuine autonomy and ownership of your work Client-facing, advice-led role (not compliance only) Flexible and hybrid working arrangements Competitive salary aligned with experience Direct access to decision-makers INTERESTED?
